April witnessed a slight recovery in Ukrainian flour exports
9 KMT of flour was exported in April (+128% from March, -58% from April 2019/20). This season’s exports totaled 106 KMT (down 64% y-o-y and the lowest since MY 2011/12), UkrAgroConsult reports.
The export decline results from a slump in processing – just 1080 KMT was produced in July-April (down 25% y-o-y). Although China is still among the top 10 importers of Ukrainian flour, it has made no purchases since August 2020.
Most importers have reduced purchases in MY 2020/21 compared to the same period last marketing year: the UAE, Moldova, Palestine, Somalia, Singapore.
Of the ten biggest buyers, only two countries stepped up flour imports from Ukraine versus last season: Israel (+44%) and Venezuela (+37%), UkrAgroConsult reports.
