Ukrainian corn sales to the EU gradually catching up with those to China

Almost 2.48 MMT was exported in February (+24% from January and -28% from February 2019/20). Total exports since the season’s beginning have totaled 13.27 MMT or 26% y-o-y, UkrAgroConsult reports.

For a second month in a row, the EU has been purchasing more than China, but this season’s total volume is still lower than that bought by Chinese importers.

China’s share shrank by another 2% in February, to 36%, with that of the EU equaling 33%.

Most major buyers reduced corn imports from Ukraine compared to a year earlier (except for China and the United Kingdom): the EU, Egypt, Turkey, Libya, Algeria, Iran.
