EU is Ukraine’s strategic trade partner
The 2020 trade volume between Ukraine and the EU (USD 10.2 Bl) was the second highest since the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union came into force, the Agrarian Economics Institute reports. The all-time high (USD 10.6 Bl) was hit in 2019, UkrAgroConsult reports.
The biggest trade partners include the Netherlands, Poland, Spain, Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, and the United Kingdom, which account for over 80% of total trade.
Following the United Kingdom’s exit from the EU, a Free Trade Area Agreement was signed between Ukraine and the United Kingdom, which is effective since the beginning of 2021.
