Kazakhstan. Exportable supplies of sunflower seed this season are at 300 KMT
Sunflower seed exports from Kazakhstan in September 2020/21 approximated 15 KMT or 40% lower on the year due to an almost 20% crop drop and the sector’s gradual switch to domestic crush, UkrAgroConsult reports.
Exportable supplies in MY 2020/21 total 300 KMT (-5% from MY 2019/20) – the decrease will be still more significant if sunseed export restrictions within the EAEU are adopted.
China expanded its market share to 81% by increasing purchases to 12 KMT vs 9.5 KMT a year earlier.
A gain in exports was registered to Tajikistan (+262%).
A slowdown in exports was observed to Afghanistan (-97%) and Uzbekistan (-86%).
