World sugar surplus of 2.7 mln tons expected in MY 2025/26

According to international analysts of Green Pool, in the next season MY 2025/26 the world sugar balance is expected to surplus 2.7 million tons, compared to the deficit of 3.7 million tons in the season MY 2024/25.
It is reported by Reuters.
According to the estimates published on February 5, in the new season of MY 2025/26, the world sugar production may increase by 4.5% and reach 202 million tons, which will be the second largest historical figure. This will be facilitated by an increase in sugar production in Brazil, India and Thailand.
