World sugar consumption will increase by almost 2%
International analysts at The Economist expect global sugar consumption to increase by 1.8% in the MY 2024/25 and by 1.7% in the MY 2025/26, which is higher than the average of 0.8% in 2018-23.
This increase is explained by the decline in world sugar prices and the strengthening of the global economy. In November, global raw sugar prices decreased by 21% year-on-year, and white sugar prices by 27%.
