Winter wheat harvesting campaign begins in Turkmenistan

Turkmen grain growers have begun the winter wheat harvesting campaign, the state order for 2025 is 1.4 million tons of grain, the official newspaper Neutral Turkmenistan reported on Thursday.
“This year, Turkmen grain growers will have to harvest 1 million 400 thousand tons of grain from 690 thousand hectares allocated for winter crops,” the report says.
The grain harvesting campaign has started in three of the five velayats (regions) of the republic. The remaining two regions of Turkmenistan will join the harvest a week later due to the peculiarities of climatic conditions.
The state order for wheat production in 2025 remained at the level of last year. According to government statements, 1.4 million tons of wheat is enough to meet the country’s needs for it. At the same time, flour from Russia, Kazakhstan and other countries is presented on the markets of Turkmenistan.
