Which countries in the world import the largest amounts of garlic?

According to market analyst Heber Chavez, global garlic imports in the first half of 2024 reached 741,829.9 tons, down 1.5% from the same period in 2023.
In the first half of 2024, Indonesia led the imports with 25.9% of the global imports, followed by Malaysia with 13.3%. Other garlic importing countries accounted for the remaining 60.8%.
Brazil is the third largest importer of the product in the world, Chavez said. It grew 23.6% over the period compared to last year, FreshPlaza wrote.
Thailand was the country that increased garlic imports the most (+215.7%), making it the sixth largest garlic importer in the world.
