Wheat and barley crops deteriorated in France
The condition of wheat and barley crops in France deteriorated slightly last week, according to a report by state agency FranceAgriMer.
The share of soft wheat crops in good to excellent condition fell to 63% (64% a week earlier and 93% a year ago), durum wheat – to 64% (66% and 86%), spring barley – to 73% (74% and 95%).
French farmers continue to plant corn. By May 20, 78% of the planned area was sown with corn, which is much less than on the same date on average for the last five years – 96%.
