USDA reduced the forecast for the sunseed harvest in Ukraine by 500 thsd tons

USDA analysts have reduced the forecast for sunflower seeds production in Ukraine in the MY 2025/26 to 13.5 million tons. This estimate is 500 thousand tons less than last month, but 500 thousand tons more than the MY 2024/25 harvest. This is stated in the ministry’s report.
Sunflower oil production will decrease by 215 thousand tons to 5.6 million tons, compared to last month’s forecast. In annual terms, the forecast shows an increase of 342 thousand tons. Oil exports will increase by 275 thousand tons year on year.
The forecast for Russia for the new season is 18 million tons — this is at the level of last month’s forecast, but 1.1 million tons more than in MY 2024/25. The country’s sunflower oil production will be 7.1 million tons, which is 309 thousand tons more than in the previous season. Exports will increase by 250 thousand tons.
