USDA raised the forecast of sunseed harvest in Ukraine
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) increased the forecasts of sunseed production and exports, as well as its processed products from Ukraine in 2023/24 MY.
This is evidenced by the report of the agency for August.
Thus, the experts increased the sunseed harvest estimate by 0.9 mln tonnes to 13.5 mln tonnes, the production of sunflower meal by 248 thsd tonnes to 5.25 mln tonnes, and sunflower oil by 258 thsd tonnes to 5.46 mln tonnes.
The forecast for sunflower oil exports has been increased to 4.95 mln tons (+200 thsd tonnes) and sunflower meal to 4.2 mln tons (+250 thsd tonnes).
The forecast of sunseed exports from Ukraine is expected to reach 800 thsd tonnes.
