USDA predicts a decline in global canola acreage and an increase in EU imports

According to current USDA estimates, in MY 2024/25 the global area planted to rapeseed will decrease compared to last season and will amount to 42.236 million hectares, the Black Sea region will remain important in meeting the EU’s needs, experts hope for good harvest results in Romania and Bulgaria.
The European Union is the largest importer of rapeseed in the world. Imports of 6.85 million tons of rapeseed are forecast for the 2024/2025 season.
Further development of the grain sector in the Black Sea and Danube region will be discussed at the 23 International Conference BLACK SEA GRAIN.KYIV on April 24 in Kyiv.
