USDA increased the forecast for sunflower oil production and exports from Ukraine
The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has revised its forecast for sunflower oil production and exports from Ukraine in the MY 2025/26.
This is evidenced by the data from the March report.
According to the updated estimates, sunflower oil production in Ukraine is expected to be at 4.73 million tons, which is 0.2 million tons more than the forecast in the previous month.
The forecast for sunflower oil exports has also been increased to 4.38 million tons, which is 0.2 million tons more than in the February forecast.
Meal production will be 4.543 million tons (+0.2 million tons), and exports are forecast at 2.9 million tons (+0.2 million tons).
At the same time, experts have increased the estimate of the sunflower harvest in Ukraine by 0.5 million tons to 11 million tons.
In addition, USDA experts predict that rapeseed oil exports from Ukraine will amount to 2.45 million tons (-0.2 million tons compared to the February estimate), sunflower oil – 2.3 million tons (-0.4 million tons).
In general, the world sunflower harvest in the 2025/26 MY is estimated at 54.12 million tons, which is more than 2 million tons more than the previous forecast, sunflower oil production – 20.75 million tons (+0.7 million tons), sunflower meal – 21.88 million tons (+0.8 million tons).
