USDA improved the forecast for Ukrainian sunflower oil
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) increased the forecast of sunflower oil production and exports from Ukraine in 2023/24 MY. This is evidenced by the report of the agency for October.
Thus, the experts still expect that Ukraine will harvest 14 mln tonnes of sunflower seeds in the reporting season, and export 500 thsd tonnes (-450 thsd tonnes).
At the same time, the production of sunflower oil will increase to 6.02 mln tonnes (+300 thsd tonnes), and exports – to 5.6 mln tonnes (+300 thsd tonnes).
The production of sunflower meal is estimated at 5.78 mln tonnes (+289 thsd tonnes), while exports will reach 4.65 mln tonnes (+200 thsd tonnes).
