US Strengthens Grain Exports to Saudi Arabia
A delegation from the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC) visited Saudi Arabia to promote American corn, sorghum, and co-products DDGS and CFP in the growing feed market.
Meetings with top poultry and dairy producers took place in Dammam, Riyadh, and Jeddah. Site visits to grain warehouses and feed mills revealed key challenges: extreme heat and humidity cause grain shrinkage and spoilage. Companies like ARASCO are investing in modern port storage, but climate pressures persist.
At a Riyadh conference, U.S. experts shared best practices for grain storage and highlighted how DDGS and CFP reduce feed costs while maintaining animal performance.
With Saudi Arabia nearing full poultry self-sufficiency, demand for reliable grain supplies is rising. USGBC plans further events to deepen trade ties.
DDGS – Distiller’s Dried Grains with Solubles: A high-protein (18–30%) co-product of corn ethanol production, widely used in livestock feed.
CFP – Corn-Fermented Protein: A premium, high-protein (50–60%) feed ingredient produced by microbial fermentation of corn, ideal for poultry and swine diets.
