US expected to announce deals on farmer aid and chinese soybean purchases
The US Department of Agriculture expects to unveil new agreements on federal support for American farmers and China’s purchases of US soybeans within the next two weeks. Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins announced this on Monday, though she did not provide further details on the measures being prepared.
According to Rollins, the Trump administration is finalizing a package aimed at supporting producers who continue to face market volatility and trade-related challenges. “We’ll have an announcement in the next week or two,” she told CNBC, referring to upcoming decisions related to US farmers.
Commenting on China’s commitments to buy American soybeans, Rollins said that Beijing is in the final stages of formalizing the agreements. “I know they are inking the deal this week or next week,” she noted.
