The United Nations Organization (UN) has reduced the provision of financial assistance to certain regions of Ukraine through short-term support from the United States.

UN Secretary General António Guterres spoke about this at the briefing on the 28th.

“I want to start by highlighting the deep concern through information that over the past 48 years, UN agencies and a lot of humanitarian organizations have been withdrawn from the United States due to a significant reduction in funding from the United States. The inheritances will be greedy for greedy people all over the world. (…) In Ukraine, programs with direct payments to victims – the main part of the humanitarian sector, which reached 1 million people in 2024, was reduced in key regions,” said Vine.

According to Guterres, the short-term financial programs that are closed in other parts of the world will lead to the world “becoming less healthy, less secure and less prosperous.”

“I can hardly predict that these decisions will be made on the basis of a more detailed review. “And this call is also expanding to other countries, as they recently voiced a speedy approach to humanitarian assistance and development,” added the UN Secretary General.

With these words, the priority of the UN is lost.

“We will work as hard as we can to provide the necessary resources to save life and help people who are in dire need. “We will continue our efforts to diversify the pool of generous donors to support our work,” Guterres said.
