Ukrainian wheat lost one of the key Asian markets
Ukrainian wheat in September lost one of the key Asian markets – Thailand. Not a single ton was shipped there in a month. This is reported by Spike Brokers.
In September 2025, the total export of grain crops from Ukraine amounted to 2.9 million tons, of which 1.8 million tons were wheat. The largest shipments were received by Egypt – 700 thousand tons (versus 107 thousand tons last year) and Indonesia – 417 thousand tons (390 thousand tons). Other major export destinations include Algeria — 175,000 tons, Vietnam — 126,000 tons, Yemen — 117,000 tons, Tunisia — 101,000 tons.
It is noteworthy that Ukraine lost the market of Thailand, where not a single ton of wheat was delivered in September, while in 2024 deliveries amounted to 277,000 tons, Spike Brokers noted.
According to brokers, the market is experiencing a recovery in demand for wheat. Prices for food wheat fluctuated within $220–224/ton, for feed — $206–210/ton. The spot index for food wheat (11.5% protein) for delivery within 30 days rose by $1/t compared to the previous week to $220, while the feed wheat index increased by $1 to $207.
