Ukrainian sunflower seed market continues to deteriorate
Over the week of October 17 – 24, sunflower prices rose by UAH 300 to UAH 27,800/mt ($663.66/t).
The market is dominated by factors supporting the price, which is gradually going up.
The harvesting company is slowing down, the yield is low, the quality of sunflower in the fields is decreasing under the influence of rain. Harvest forecasts are falling below the mark of 11 M mt and this may become an optimistic scenario. Farmers are in no hurry to sell the harvested crop. Factories are trying to cover the needs of November. It is finally becoming clear that the season will be the most difficult in many years.
