Ukrainian ports handled 5 million tons of cereals in October

Ukrainian ports continue to demonstrate strong growth in cargo turnover. In October 2024, 8 million tons of cargo passed through the seaports of Ukraine, which is 60% more than last year.
This is stated in the message of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority on Facebook.
“The bulk of cargo traffic is traditionally formed by agricultural products and ore. Thus, the volume of grain cargo transshipment in October amounted to 5 million tons, exceeding last year’s figure by 1.5 million tons. Ore cargoes also showed impressive dynamics, reaching 1.4 million tons, which is more than twice the result of October 2023,” the agency noted.
The Ukrainian corridor plays a significant role in ensuring export operations, with 6.8 million tons of cargo passing through it in October. Of these, 4.5 million tons were grains, which emphasizes the importance of Ukraine in maintaining global food security.
In January-October 2024, the total cargo turnover of Ukrainian ports reached 82.3 million tons, almost twice as much as in the same period last year (46.1 million tons).
