Ukraine’s ag commodities trade cut another record in 11M 2021
Ukraine exported USD 24.4 bln worth of agri-food products in January-November 2021, the National Scientific Center Institute of Agrarian Economics reports with reference to the State Customs Service data.
The deputy director of the National Scientific Center, NAAS corresponding member Mykoal Puhachov marks that the previous record was USD 22.2 bln, thus it is Ukraine’s fourth consecutive record of agricultural commodities exports.
Ahead of the year-end, the record for foreign shipments of fruit and berry products by domestic companies was set at USD 329 mln in 11M 2021. A crucial factor was the increase in the value of frozen fruit and berries sales to USD 205 mln, while their exports also reached their highest ever volume of over 73,000 t.
The Institute of Agrarian Economics projects that the export shipment of poultry meat will break another record for the country in 2021.
Wheat export from Ukraine is projected by the USDA in its December report at 24.2 mln t, 0.2 mln t above the previous report. Corn outlook for Ukraine was improved by the USDA analysts, production should reach 40 mln t in 2021/22.
