Ukraine. Sunseed harvest exceeds last year’s by more than 600 thousand tons
Ukrainian farmers harvested 11.958 mln tons of sunseed from 99.1% of the area, which is more than 600 thsd tonnes more than last year’s harvest (11.328 mln tons). The yield is also higher than last year’s – 23.8 c/ha against 21.6 c/ha last year.
In particular, three regions harvested more than 1 mln tons of sunseed this year: Kirovograd (1.552 mln tons), Dnipro (1.529 mln tons) and Poltava (1.132 mln tons).
In five regions, the average yield exceeded 30 cwt/ha: Ternopil (33.5 cwt/ha), Khmelnytsky (33 cwt/ha), Ivano-Frankivsk (32 cwt/ha), Vinnytsia (30.4 cwt/ha) and Bukovyna (30.8 cwt/ha).
