Ukraine. Sunflower oil export remains lower than last year

The sunseed crop estimate remains at a record level. The processed share in the 2021/22 crop is expected at about 99%.
2021/22 sunseed exports will be lower by 20% from MY 2020/21. Turkey, having increased purchases amid a prohibitive tariff in Russia, became the key importer.
According to UkrAgroConsult, sunflower oil export potential is expected at a record level as well. At the same time, sunflower oil export volumes are not enough to catch up with last year.
Sunseed stocks as of the beginning of December were up 26% y-o-y, including a 43% rise on farms and a 7% increase at processing and storage entities.
Ukraine gathered rather good crops of soybean and rapeseed – they were both higher compared to the previous year. This will allow to increase exports of rapeseed oil, soybean oil and meals as well.
