Ukraine sows almost 6 mln ha of winter crops

Ukrainian farmers have already sown 5.98 million hectares of winter crops. Winter crops are being sown in all regions, with almost 4.9 million hectares (95%) planted. Winter rape has been sown on more than 1 million hectares.
In particular
- winter wheat – 4.3 million hectares (96%);
- winter barley – 543.6 thou hectares (85%);
- winter rye – 67.9 thou hectares (96%);
- winter rape – 1.07 mln ha (96%).
Agrarians in Vinnytsia, Volyn, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kyiv, Poltava, Rivne, Ternopil and Chernihiv regions have completed sowing winter crops. Farmers in 12 regions have completed sowing winter rapeseed.
Among the leaders in terms of winter grain sowing are farmers in Mykolaiv region – 503.1 thsd hectares (100.5%), Zaporizhzhia region – 100.8 thsd hectares (99.9%), and Khmelnytskyi region – 238.8 thsd hectares (99.5%).
