Ukraine. Sobolev named the main priorities of the united ministry

The newly appointed Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture Oleksiy Sobolev named the main priorities of the united ministry — European integration, attracting investments, supporting businesses and environmental reforms. This is stated in his post on Facebook.
“We will combine the best practices of three ministries — the Ministry of Economy, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Environment — and add modern tools: digital services, deregulation, supporting entrepreneurship, attracting investments and access to international financing,” Sobolev noted.
Among the strategic priorities is integration into the European Union. According to the minister, the new department will coordinate about 15 of the 35 negotiation chapters of Ukraine’s future membership in the EU in all six clusters.
“We have done a lot in this area together with Taras Kachka and will continue in new positions. This will be a cross-cutting policy of the government and the ministry as a whole,” he stressed.
The minister called attracting investments in the agro-industrial complex and environmental protection an important direction. In particular, these are projects in the areas of subsoil and water use, land reclamation, waste management, agro-processing and forestry.
Also among the priorities are support for national producers, continuation of the “Made in Ukraine” policy, as well as simplification of business conditions.
“The next step is large-scale deregulation, digitalization of procedures and reduction of inspections for businesses. Where work has not been completed in this area, we will do everything necessary – in all three sectors that we currently oversee,” Sobolev promised.
As a reminder, on July 17, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine was liquidated as part of the government reform, and its functions, along with the powers of the Ministry of Ecology, were transferred to the newly created Ministry of Economy, Environment and Agriculture, headed by Oleksiy Sobolev.
