Ukraine. NIBULON shipped the first coaster from the Danube port directly to Turkey

A coaster loaded with soybeans weighing 7,000 tons set sail from the Bessarabian branch in the port of Izmail to Turkey.

Nibulon plans to make such shipments on a regular basis.

The company emphasized that the shipment of the first coaster from Izmail to Turkey opens up new opportunities for Ukraine to use the export chain through the Danube ports. This will further equalize the possibilities of the alternative route compared to the traditional one through the Black Sea ports.

“Nibulon’s own barge and tug fleet will continue to operate on the Izmail – Constanta route to enable the loading of large-capacity vessels. The additional option of loading sea-going barges strengthens the company’s trade and logistics advantages in delivering goods in batches of up to 7,000 tons directly to the country of destination,” the statement said.

Nibulon’s Trade Director Volodymyr Slavinsky added that the company works with a separate segment of consumers, mainly in the Mediterranean basin, when it comes to loading coasters.

“For them, the mobility inherent in medium-sized shipments and the reduction of the military risk factor in relation to the ports of Greater Odesa are important. At the same time, the ability to deliver grain directly to the customer will allow us to maintain the level of grain purchase prices, supporting our agricultural partners,” said Slavinsky.

In particular, the company noted that it is ready to provide transshipment services to other exporters, as the terminal’s three berths are able to provide parallel loading of vessels of different classes.
