Ukraine may significantly increase corn exports in October-December 2025

Seasonality plays a critical role in the distribution of markets between exporters.
This was reported by grain market analyst Maksym Kharchenko of UkrAgroConsult in his column in The Ukrainian Farmer magazine.
According to him, in October-December 2025, Ukraine can significantly increase exports to Europe and Asia, occupying the niche of American corn of the new crop.
“Most of the Brazilian sales to the Asian market will take place by October. Therefore, at the end of the year, Ukraine will be able to relatively calmly supply agricultural products to the East, competing mainly with Argentinean leftovers,” Maksym Kharchenko noted.
The analyst clarified that in the 1st quarter, US stocks usually covered world demand for the new crop of corn from the Southern Hemisphere. Due to tariffs, world prices may go up.
“So Ukraine will be able to make deliveries in January-March 2026 at higher prices. However, in April-June we will have to compete with Argentina in the markets. Therefore, it is desirable for us to maximize the export potential before the arrival of South American consignments,” Maksym Kharchenko emphasized.
He also reported that in June-August 2026, Brazil will dominate. South American corn will go to Mexico, China, South Korea, and the EU. Ukraine will end the 2025/26 season with minimal transitional balances at this time.
Further development of the grain sector in the Black Sea and Danube region will be discussed at the 23 International Conference BLACK SEA GRAIN.KYIV on April 24 in Kyiv.
