By the end of 2025, Ukraine will do everything necessary to open all six clusters for negotiations on joining the European Union and is actively working with all partners to unblock this process. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration – Minister of Justice Olga Stefanishyna.

She noted that the beginning of the Danish presidency of the Council of the EU is a strong signal for Ukraine, as Denmark has identified enlargement as one of its key priorities. Accordingly, Ukraine expects bold decisions regarding its membership and the renewal of the negotiation methodology within the European Union itself, the creation of new tools to speed up the process, and the ability to respond to the destructive position of individual countries.

“Ukraine, for its part, is already ready to open three negotiation clusters, and by the end of the year it will do everything necessary to open all six. Currently, the only factor determining the date of adoption of the decision to open negotiations is the consensus of the 27 EU countries,” Stefanishyna noted.

She emphasized that Hungary’s blocking of this process is primarily a political story, and Ukraine is currently actively working with partners to find a solution.

“This issue is constantly on the agenda,” the Deputy Prime Minister assured.

Stefanishyna expressed her belief that all issues, including those related to national minorities, should be resolved through dialogue, and not become the subject of political blackmail in the EU institutions.

Earlier, the official spokesman for the European Commission, Guillaume Mercier, stated that Ukraine had fulfilled all the conditions for starting negotiations on accession to the EU.
