Ukraine increases rapeseed processing, soybeans are next in line
The significant increase of rapeseed processing in 2023 harvest was favorable for the growth of rapeseed oil exports in July-August of 2023/24 MY. This was stated by Stepan Kapshuk, the Director of the Association Ukroliyaprom.
He noted that in July-August this year, the export of rapeseed oil exceeded the results of the corresponding period of 2022 by more than 20 times.
Stepan Kapshuk emphasized that in 2022/23 MY, the production and export of soybean oil also increased by 18%, and export of soybean meal – by 19.4%.
“These figures could have been higher if soybean processing in the country had increased, especially considering that exports of soybean products are mainly carried out by road and rail,” said Mr. Kapshuk.
