Ukraine increased egg exports by 66% over the year
In 2025, Ukrainian egg producers exported 2.05 billion pieces. Compared to 2024, export volumes increased by 65.6%.
This was reported by the “Union of Poultry Farmers of Ukraine”.
In monetary terms, revenue for 12 months of 2025 amounted to $201.9 million, which is 2.8 times more than in 2024.
The most active buyers of Ukrainian eggs during 2025 were:
- Spain (16.4%)
United Kingdom (11.9%)
Czech Republic (10.3%)
Poland (10.0%)
Croatia (8.7%)
Israel (7.8%).
Exports of egg products last year amounted to 8.2 thousand tons for a total amount of $47.8 million.
The main importers were:
- Latvia (24%)
- Italy (23.8%)
- Poland (17.2%)
- Denmark (12.6%).
Compared to 2024, exports increased by 2.6%, and in monetary terms by 40.3%.
Ukraine significantly strengthened its presence in the European market for eggs and egg products: the share of EU countries in 2025 reached 73.4% of the total export volume of eggs and 92.6% of egg products.
A significant reduction in egg production in EU countries due to the difficult epizootic situation last year, as well as a long recovery period, led to an increase in prices on the European market and increased demand for Ukrainian products.
The Ukrainian egg production sector is gradually recovering after a significant reduction in the livestock and loss of production capacity in the east and south of the country at the beginning of the war. Due to the decrease in the population and low purchasing power, the domestic market is largely dependent on exports, which play a key role in balancing the market and ensuring the country’s food security.
As reported, during the first nine months of 2025, Poland almost doubled its table egg imports compared to the same period of the previous year.
Ukraine remains the largest supplier of eggs to Poland: 5.6 thousand tons were imported in the first nine months of 2024, and 10 thousand tons in the same period of 2025 (data for 2025 may be revised).
