Ukraine has already exported 21% of the annual grain plan
Ukraine’s global exports of grains and legumes in the MY 2024/2025 should reach 43.2 million tons. As of today, Ukraine has already exported 21% of grain. This was stated by the Minister of agrarian policy and food Vitaly Koval on air of the telethon.
“As of September 16, Ukraine exported 8.76 million tons of grain and legumes. We expect global exports in the marketing year 2024/2025 at the level of 43.2 million tons. We can state that 21% of annual exports have already been exported since the beginning of the marketing year,” Koval said.
He added that exports of wheat – 11.5 million tons, barley – 1.5 million tons, corn – about 19.2 million tons are still expected.
In mid-August, it was reported that Ukraine had completed harvesting of wheat, 21.7 million tons were threshed.
Earlier, the Ukrainian Grain Association worsened the forecast of potential harvest in 2024 to 71.8 million tons of grains and oilseeds. Another decrease in the new season’s crop forecast was caused by hot and dry weather in July.
Under such conditions, exports in the new 2024/2025 season will be 41 million tons, 2.5 million tons less than the previous forecast. Last season, which ended on June 30, according to the Ukrainian Grain Association, exports of grains and oilseeds amounted to 57.5 million tons of grains and oilseeds. Consequently, the drop in exports compared to last season may amount to more than 16 million tons.
At the end of June, agrarians of six regions started harvesting early grain and leguminous crops of the new crop.
