Ukraine. Gap in grain exports from last year’s volume exceeded 9 mln tons
The volume of grain and pulses crops exports from Ukraine in the 2024/25 MY as of June 6 amounted to over 38.6 million tons, which is 9.1 million tons, or 19% less than in the same period last season.
This is evidenced by data from the State Customs Service, published by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Thus, almost 15 million tons of wheat were shipped this season, which is 15% less than last year’s volumes. Thus, 92% of wheat was exported from the total volume agreed in the grain memorandum (16.2 million tons).
Barley supplies to foreign markets amounted to 2.3 million tons, which is 5% less than in the same period last season.
10.8 thousand tons of rye were shipped, which is 7 times more than last season (1.6 thousand tons).
Corn was exported in the amount of 20.8 million tons, which is 23% less than shipments on the same date last season.
Flour exports from Ukraine amounted to 65.8 thousand tons, which is 302% less than last year’s figure.
For reference: in the MY 2023/24, grain and pulses crop exports amounted to 50.8 million tons: wheat – 18.4 million tons; barley – 2.5 million tons; rye – 1.6 thousand tons; corn – 29.4 million tons; flour – 98.2 thousand tons.
