Ukraine exported honey worth almost $100 million
From the beginning of 2023 to the end of October, Ukrainian honey exports amounted to 43 thousand tons with a total value of $97.5 million.
According to customs statistics, in October, Ukraine’s honey exports amounted to 5.8 thousand tons, which is almost the same as in September. The average export price continues to decline – while in September it was $1.97 per 1 kg, in October it was already $1.90 per 1 kg (while in the first quarter of 2023 the average cost of Ukrainian exports was $2.65 per 1 kg).
Accordingly, in monetary terms, exports decreased compared to the previous month – from $11.4 million in September to $11 million in October.
In total, during the first ten months of the year, Ukraine exported 43 thousand tons of honey for $97.5 million. For comparison, in the corresponding period of 2022, it was 38.7 thousand tons for $112 million.
The main importing countries of Ukrainian honey in January-October 2023 were Germany, Poland and France.
According to customs statistics, in 2022, Ukrainian honey exports amounted to 48 thousand tons, which is 17% lower than in 2021, while, due to a 15% increase in the average selling price, export revenues in monetary terms decreased by only 4.6% to $137 million.
