Ukraine exported 46 million tons of grain

The volume of exports of cereals and pulses from Ukraine since the beginning of 2021/22 MY as of May 5, 2022 amounted to 46 million tons, which is 7 million tons, or 18% higher than last year.
This is evidenced by data from the State Customs Service, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Thus, since the beginning of the season, 18.53 million tons of wheat have been exported, which is 23% more than last year.
The supply of barley to foreign markets amounted to 5.7 million tons (+ 38%).
As of the reporting date, 161.9 thousand tons of rye were shipped, which is much higher than last year’s figure (1.7 thousand tons).
More than 21.3 million tons of corn were exported. The increase in supplies was 11% compared to last year.
At the same time, the export of Ukrainian flour since the beginning of the season amounted to 69.7 thousand tons, which is 34% lower than on the same date last season.
For reference: in 2020/21 MY exports of cereals and pulses amounted to 44.6 million tons: wheat – 16.6 million tons; barley – 4.2 million tons; rye – 17.1 thousand tons; corn – 23.1 million tons; flour – 126.9 thousand tons.
