Ukraine exported 42.5 million tons of grain
The volume of exports of grain and leguminous crops from Ukraine since the beginning of 2021/22 MY as of February 21 amounted to 42.5 million tons, which is 11.6 million tons, or 38% higher than last year (a week ago, volumes exceeded last year by 35% ).
This is evidenced by the data of the State Fiscal Service, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food said in a statement.
Thus, 17.8 million tons of wheat have been exported since the beginning of the season, which is 34% more than last year.
The supply of barley to foreign markets amounted to 5.57 million tons (+41%).
As of the reporting date, rye was shipped 160.1 thousand tons, which significantly exceeds the last year’s figure (1.7 thousand tons).
Corn exported 18.7 million tons. The increase in supplies amounted to 42% compared to last year.
Last week, exports of wheat and barley exceeded last year’s by 33% and 40%, respectively, corn – by 37%.
At the same time, the export of Ukrainian flour since the beginning of the season amounted to 66.3 thousand tons, which is 27% less than the figure for the same date last season.
For reference: in 2020/21 MY, exports of grain and leguminous crops amounted to 44.6 million tons: wheat – 16.6 million tons; barley – 4.2 million tons; rye – 17.1 thousand tons; corn – 23.1 million tons; flour – 126.9 thousand tons.
