Ukraine exported 278 thsd tons of rapeseed in July
In July 2024, Ukraine exported 278 thousand tons of rapeseed, which is 15% higher than last year.
According to Ukrinform, this was reported by the Electronic Grain Exchange.
“In July, Ukraine exported 278 thsd tonnes of rapeseed, which is 15% higher than in July 2023 (242 thsd tonnes) due to early ripening of the crop and high prices for the oilseed. This was the highest for this month in the last 5 years,” the report says.
It is noted that during this week, the purchase prices for rapeseed in Ukraine increased to 22700 – 23000 UAH/t, or 475-485 USD/t with delivery to the Black Sea ports, as farmers almost stopped selling after the price decline. Processors offer 20500-21500 UAH/t for rapeseed with delivery to the plant.
According to analysts, the world prices for rapeseed declined slightly last week, but in Ukraine, the purchase prices remained high due to active exports and purchases by traders. Due to a 3.7% drop in oil prices, the rapeseed market has remained stable so far.
