Ukraine completes sowing of spring crops

14 regions of Ukraine have fully completed sowing spring crops. Currently, 12.9 million hectares of grains, pulses and oilseeds, as well as sugar beet have been planted. In particular, 5 mln 619 thsd ha of grains and pulses were sown, including
- spring wheat – 271.1 thou hectares;
- spring barley – 810.0 thou hectares;
- peas – 138.5 thou hectares;
- oats – 146.2 thou hectares;
- corn – 4 014.8 thousand hectares;
- buckwheat – 119.7 thou hectares;
- millet – 49.2 thou hectares.
Agrarians in Vinnytsia, Zakarpattia, Ivano-Frankivsk, Kirovograd, Lviv, Odesa, Poltava, Rivne, Sumy, Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Cherkasy, Chernihiv and Chernivtsi regions have completed sowing spring crops.
As for oilseeds, sunflower was sown on the area of 5 283.8 thou hectares, and soybeans – 1 773.5 thou hectares.
Sugar beet sowing has been completed on the area of 213.1 thou hectares.
