Ukraine can export 65-70 million tons of grain and oilseeds in 2022/23 MY
In the current marketing year, Ukraine will be able to export about 65-70 million tons of grain and oil crops. Taras Vysotsky, First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, said this during a press conference on September 1.
“In the current marketing year, we have the opportunity to export about 65-70 million tons (of agricultural products – ed.) taking into account the remains of last year’s harvest,” he said.
Vysotsky noted that for this, Ukraine needs to export 5-6 million tons of grain and oilseeds every month. Achieving such indicators is the goal of the ministry. In particular, the department is currently cooperating with international partners to increase the volume of agricultural exports by rail.
The government official added that the remainder of the 2021 harvest currently amounts to 22 million tons. At the same time, about 20 million tons of grain and oilseeds are needed for domestic consumption in Ukraine every year.
In August 2022, the export of grain and oilseeds from Ukraine amounted to 4.5 million tons.
