Ukraine announces first forwards for new crop corn in ports and at the border
Forward contracts for new crop corn have become more active on the Ukrainian grain market. Spike Brokers reports this.
Over the last period, about 30 thousand tons of corn of the 2026 harvest have been contracted towards the border (FCA Chop) at prices of €188–190/ton with delivery in November–December 2026 and January–May 2027.
In the direction of ports, deals were concluded at a level of about $210/ton CPT ports of Greater Odessa.
At the same time, the physical corn market is demonstrating more restrained dynamics. The current crop is traded in the range of $212–215/ton.
Corn exports from Ukraine in March have already exceeded 1.8 million tons as of March 19, with a significant portion of supplies going to price-sensitive markets, in particular Turkey, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain.
Further development of the grain and oilseed markets of Ukraine and the Black Sea region will be in the spotlight of the BLACK SEA GRAIN. KYIV conference, taking place on April 22–23 in Kyiv. The event will focus on strategic directions for the agricultural sector through 2030, including investments, energy independence, processing, and exports of high-value products.
