Ukraine and Denmark signed a memorandum on expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Vitaliy Koval and Minister of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries of Denmark Jacob Jensen signed a Memorandum on expanding cooperation in the agricultural sector. The signing took place as part of Vitaliy Koval’s visit to Denmark, the government portal reports.

The document provides for priority areas of cooperation, including European integration processes.

The ministers also discussed common challenges and opportunities for deepening the partnership between Ukraine and Denmark. In particular, investments in the Ukrainian agricultural sector and assistance in its reconstruction after the war.

Key topics of conversation:

  • The efficiency of production in Denmark is 15 times higher than in Ukraine. Therefore, we continue to develop deep processing here.
  • Agro in Denmark is also a high-tech business with deep roots in traditions. Here, they are not afraid of innovations, but they do not lose respect for the farmer.
  • The state provides a stable environment for farmers – from preferential lending to export support and green transformation.
  • Fishing and aquaculture are strategic areas. Ukraine also has potential in these sectors, especially taking into account post-war reconstruction.

“For Ukraine, a strong agriculture is a matter of food security and energy stability. Denmark understands this perfectly and supports us. I am convinced that our cooperation will only strengthen,” Vitaliy Koval emphasized.
