Turkey signs deal to import 300 thsd tons of Russian wheat
Turkey’s state grain board (TMO) has finalized a direct purchase of a major batch of Russian milling wheat, securing around 300 thsd tons outside an open international tender. According to European traders, the decision reflects Ankara’s need to quickly replenish stocks amid steady domestic demand.
The supply will be provided by Russia’s United Grain Company (OZK) under C&F terms, with shipments scheduled to arrive at seven Turkish ports by the end of December. The wheat will contain at least 12.5% protein, while the value of the deal has not been disclosed.
