Turkey continues to increase sunflower oil exports
Turkey almost doubled its sunflower oil stocks during the year, which allowed it to significantly increase its exports, while imports will gradually begin to decline in August – December, – report experts Oil World.
From September to July 2022/23 MY, the country increased imports of sunflower oil compared to the previous season by 0.4 million tons to a record 1.27 million tons, thanks to which stocks on August 1 doubled to 500 thousand tons. The main volumes of sunflower oil were supplied to Turkey from Ukraine.
The pace of sunflower oil exports continues to grow, and if in June they amounted to 36 thousand tons, in July they reached 57 thousand tons, of which 15 thousand tons were shipped to Ethiopia. In total, Turkey exported 634,000 tons of sunflower oil in MY 2022/23, 141,000 tons more than in the previous season.
