The volume of Ukrainian wheat exports reached last year’s figure
The volume of exports of grains and pulses from Ukraine in 2023/24 MY as of February 23 amounted to 28.15 mln tonnes. This is down 2.6 mln tonnes, or 9% compared to the same period last season. This is evidenced by the data of the State Customs Service, published by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine.
Thus, since the beginning of the season, 11.1 mln tons of wheat have been shipped, which corresponds to last year’s volumes.
Barley supplies to foreign markets amounted to 1.56 mln tons, which is 23% less than last year.
Rye was shipped in the amount of 1 thousand tons (-94%).
Ukraine exported 15.2 million tons of corn, down 2.4 million tons, or 13%, from the same date last season.
Ukraine exported 72.8 thsd tonnes of flour, down 21 thsd tonnes or 23% y-o-y.
For reference: in 2022/23 MY, the exports of grains and legumes totaled 49 mln tonnes: wheat – 16.8 mln tonnes, barley – 2.7 mln tonnes, rye – 18 thsd tonnes, corn – 29.1 mln tonnes, flour – 153.6 thsd tonnes.
