The regions of Ukraine with the highest sunseed yield in the season 2023

Ukraine has harvested 99% of its sunseed crop as of December 21. The harvest amounted to 11.97 mln tons of grain with an average yield of 2.39 t/ha, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy reported.
Most of the sunflower seeds were planted in Kirovograd region this season – 631 thousand hectares, increasing the area by 4.4% compared to last year.
Top 5 regions of Ukraine in terms of average sunflower yield:
- Ternopil – 3.35 t/ha;
- Khmelnytsky – 3.3 t/ha;
- Ivano-Frankivsk – 3.2 t/ha;
- Chernivtsi – 3.08 t/ha;
- Cherkasy – 2.87 t/ha.
According to the USDA forecast, the sunseed harvest in Ukraine in 2023/24 season will amount to 14.5 mln tonnes.
The production of oilseeds – rapeseed, sunseed, soybeans – reached 20.7 mln tonnes as of December 21.
