The quality of Romanian wheat this year is much better than German and French wheat

This year, the quality of wheat in Romania is assessed as high, Gabriel Razi, a representative of Harvista, told Trend&Hedge Club, Latifundist.com reports.
“Regarding the quality of wheat. Compared to Germany and France, where the crops were significantly affected by rains, our quality is fine. This year’s figures are just perfect,” he said.
Also in Romania, 50% of the sunflower area has been harvested (as of August 21). The results are quite modest – the yield is no more than 1.5-2 tons per hectare. According to Razi, this is the worst harvest in the last 5 years, but in the western part of the country, the yield is expected to be better.
According to the German Raiffeisen Association (DRV), this year’s grain harvest is the worst since 2018. It amounts to 39.1 million tons, which is 8% less than last year’s harvest.
According to forecasts, in 2024 France will harvest the worst wheat crop in more than 40 years.
