The NEVA ship with a humanitarian cargo of Ukrainian wheat arrived in Somalia
The NEVA vessel – the third vessel within the framework of the “Grain from Ukraine” program has arrived at the port of destination. It has 25,000 tons of food wheat on board. This is part of humanitarian aid from Ukraine to Ethiopia and Somalia, which are on the brink of famine.
“We are all witnesses of mass hunger on the African continent. Unfortunately, more and more countries cannot afford a sufficient amount of food to meet the needs of their own people. We are sure that this batch of Ukrainian grain will be a new step for long-term cooperation and fight against the causes of food shortages. This is our contribution to the restoration of a safe and stable future,” commented Oleksandr Kubrakov, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure.
As noted, the costs of cargo logistics were borne by the governments of Finland, France and Japan.
