The largest consumers of Ukrainian pulses have been named
In 2023, the total exports of soybeans and peas amounted to 3 490 thsd tonnes and 266.8 thsd tonnes respectively.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine following the meeting of the Minister Vitaliy Koval with representatives of Ukrainian enterprises that grow and process pulses.
The largest consumers were Turkey, Egypt, Romania, Italy, and Bangladesh.
Vitaliy Koval emphasized that to increase these figures, it is important to develop deep processing in this industry.
“Each company has different problems now – some have lost everything in the occupied territory, some have mined fields and it is impossible to resume full operations in the de-occupied territories. Therefore, our task is to develop a set of solutions to address systemic problems,” the Minister said.
