Thailand. Sugar exports may reach a record level

According to international analysts Czarnikow, in the first quarter of 2025, raw sugar exports from Thailand may reach a record volume if there are no delays in the start of the season and no problems with logistics. According to Czarnikow, in the first quarter of 2025, Thailand could export up to 2.15 million tons of raw sugar.
Czarnikow has reduced its estimate of sugarcane production in Thailand in the MY 2024/25 season to 105 million tons from 111 million tons previously forecasted due to a decrease in yields.
Earlier in October, the agricultural attaché service of the US Department of Agriculture in Bangkok reported that the export of raw sugar from Thailand in the season MY 2024/25 will more than double compared to the season MY 2023/24 and will amount to 5.3 million tons.
According to the USDA, in MY 2024/25 the total volume of sugar exports from Thailand, including raw sugar and white sugar, is estimated at 10 mln tons, provided that India maintains export restrictions and exports from Brazil decrease.
The U.S. Agricultural Attaché expects that in MY 2024/25 Thailand’s sugarcane production will reach 95,900 tons, up 13% from the previous season, due to favorable weather conditions during the sugarcane development period in the northeastern and central regions of the country.
