TEUS enters the maritime agency services market
Ukraine’s port logistics market is undergoing another phase of transformation. Alongside traditional players — ship agents — transport and forwarding companies are now stepping in to independently provide maritime agency services.
This development marks a natural result of the ongoing integration of logistics services. After expanding into transshipment, chartering, and brokerage operations, freight forwarders are now adding ship agency services — a new link in the chain of comprehensive logistics solutions.
From Forwarding to Agency Services
Amid growing vessel traffic and the recovery of port activity in Greater Odesa and the Danube region after the blockade period, forwarding companies are increasingly entering the ship agency market. In 2025, TEUS officially launched its ship agency division in the ports of Greater Odesa and the Danube region, expanding its own ecosystem of integrated logistics solutions.
A Logical Step for a Logistics Integrator
For TEUS, this step continues its strategic vision as a logistics integrator uniting road, rail, and container transportation, chartering, transshipment, and port forwarding into a single system.
“Our goal is not just to perform individual operations, but to create comprehensive logistics solutions for our clients — from a vessel’s arrival to cargo delivery to the final consignee,” said Dmytro Kazanin, owner and director of TEUS.
Ship agency services give clients a single point of responsibility: the company organizing port cargo handling now also supervises the vessel’s arrival, stay, and departure, ensuring seamless coordination between shipowners, terminals, and cargo owners.
For freight forwarders, agency operations also provide an additional control point and a competitive edge. Essentially, companies that previously only managed cargo are now able to oversee the entire port process, improving the efficiency and transparency of logistics chains.
About TEUS
TEUS operates a well-developed infrastructure in the ports of Greater Odesa — Odesa, Pivdennyi, and Chornomorsk. The company handles general, liquid, and grain cargoes and owns equipment for packing mineral fertilizers at the Chornomorsk port. This integrated setup enables TEUS to provide a full cycle of vessel and cargo handling, including transshipment, chartering, and ship agency services — all within one unified system.
