Syria signs a contract with Russia to buy wheat
Syria has concluded a contract to purchase about 1.4 million tons of wheat from Russia, Syrian Agriculture Minister Hassan Qatana said.
“Syria has concluded a contract with Russia to purchase approximately 1.4 million tons of wheat for the Grain Association (of Syria – ed.). The imported quantity is enough for our production for the whole year,” Qatana said.
He noted that the import process is going smoothly. According to him, a large amount of wheat has already arrived at Syrian ports.
“We are now trying to expand the trade exchange between the two countries…,” the Syrian minister added.
We will remind, Syria is the main buyer of stolen grain in Ukraine.
